Fun Run 2025 Highlights

by | Jun 16, 2025

Fun Run 2025 was more than just a run — it was a movement of love, unity, and hope. Organized by Ray of Hope, this year’s 5KM Charity Run took place on the morning of 2 June 2025 (Monday) at Polo Ground, Ipoh, all for one meaningful purpose: supporting children with learning disabilities.

From the early morning registration at 6:30 AM, the energy was already buzzing. Everyone proudly wore the Ray of Hope Fun Run t-shirt, ready to run, walk, and cheer for a great cause. The morning kicked off with a warm-up session at 7:00 AM, building excitement for the 7:30 AM flag-off, led by an inspiring lineup of VIP guests.

Special Thanks to Our Honoured Flag-Off Guests:

  • Bishop Stephen Soe
  • Bishop Ng Moon Hing
  • Ven. John Kennedy
  • Ven. Soong Hoe Pin
  • YB Ong Boon Piew
  • Rev. Soon Jun Jer

With cheers and air horns in the air, runners set off on the scenic course, following signages and collecting markers at each round. Every step taken was a step forward for children with neurodivergent conditions, such as autism and Down syndrome.

The Fun Run aimed to raise funds to support education and vocational training at Ray of Hope. We are thrilled to share that we had around 400 participants and successfully raised around RM48,000. Our goal was not only to raise funds but also to raise public awareness—encouraging care, inclusion, and acceptance of these children as a valued part of the community.

After the Finish Line

As runners completed their route, they returned to the registration counter to proudly collect their medals. A simple process — show your wristband, give your name — and you walk away with not only a medal but also a heart full of pride. The closing ceremony at 8:45 AM wrapped up the day with gratitude and joy.
